The treatment of textile industrial wastewater with the ECUVal system provides the following environmental benefits with respect to current technologies:
- Saving between 70 and 100% of water.
- Saving up to 100% salt.
- Fewer chemicals must be added in the wastewater treatment plant.
- Discharge of wastewater with lower salinity and colour.
The environmental benefits of ECUVal vary depending on the use of the system. The ECUVal system can operate in two modes: decolouration for discharge or decolouration + reuse. In addition, it has positive impact not only on the dyeing process but also on the wastewater treatment plant of the textile mill.
In the dyeing process, when the system is applied to decolourise the effluents, a reduction in the environmental impact of the process in 7% and 8% decrease in the generation of CO2 are observed. With respect to the impact on the treatment of the wastewater generated by the company, the ECUVal system enables to decrease the environmental impact in 54.6% and the carbon footprint in 54%.
On the other hand, the mode reuse of the ECUVal system enables to reduce the water consumption of the dyeing process between 70 and 100% and reduce the consumption of salt in up to 100%. Consequently, the effluent reuse reduces the environmental impact of the dyeing process in 30% and the carbon footprint in 21%. In addition, the ECUVal system generated effluents with lower salinity and colour that provides 57% decrease in the environmental impact of the wastewater treatment plant and 56% reduction in CO2 generation.
